Manpas Technology Step by Step

From Biomass to a Usable Material

Manpas is a heat-treatment technology for processing organic materials. During the process, the material is moved through controlled treatment stages while its temperature is raised and maintained for a defined period of time.

The technology can be adapted to different types of biomass and scaled according to the volume of material to be processed and the intended end use.

01

Material enters the process

Biomass is fed into the Manpas silo. The system is dimensioned according to the material and required capacity.

→ Material in

02

The material heats up in the silo

The material naturally heats to approximately 60–70 °C before the next treatment stage.

60–70 °C | approx. 1–2 days

03

Temperature is raised in the screw conveyor

The material moves continuously through the heated screw conveyor.

Approx. 80–85 °C

04

Hygienisation is ensured

The required treatment temperature and time are maintained as part of the controlled process.

≥ 70 °C | ≥ 60 min

05

The material is ready for further use

The heat-treated biomass can be directed to suitable further uses depending on the feedstock and applicable requirements.

→ Bedding | soil improvement | growing media

One Process, Scaled to Your Needs

The same process principle is used across Manpas systems. Capacity is scaled according to the material volume and application.

For applications where the process integration, material volume or other site-specific requirements call for a different system configuration.

System Selection Starts with the Material

The right configuration depends on the material being processed, its volume and the intended end use.

Before defining the system, we assess factors such as:

  • material characteristics and moisture

  • daily material volume

  • current handling method

  • required capacity

  • intended end use

  • site-specific process requirements

The system is then dimensioned according to these requirements.
